Dili, March 06, 2020 – The Government of Timor-Leste launched a multi-lingual Municipal Data Platform: a free, open and easy to use online platform that provides users with sub-national level data. The portal is designed to help users analyze data for planning, monitoring & better service delivery.
The Municipality Data Portal is a Minister of State Administration (MAE) initiative to strengthen the socio-economic development in the Timor-Leste. The database includes key performance indicators on health, education, socio-economic, demography, infrastructure, gender, and agriculture. This data platform can be browsed in three different languages – Portuguese, Tetun, and English.
The Municipal Data Platform is comprised of 7 sectors which were selected to provide a balanced status of municipal conditions, given data availability. The framework incorporates 71 indicators in total, and also covers Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
The Timor Leste Municipal Data Platform is supported by the European Commission- Development and Cooperation EuropeAid and implemented by UNDP Timor Leste with the Ministry of State Administration. This Portal is designed, developed and supported by iTech Mission (iTM).
